He was the husband of the late Roberta “Betty” (Bassett) Palladino for over 55 years, who preceded him in death February 13, 2011. John was born December 13, 1935, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Rocco and Theresa (Basso) Palladino.

An excellent athlete, he had hoped to attend college, however, due to his mother’s death at an early age, he left school to enter the workforce to help support the family. He was inducted into the Torrington High School Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2007 for his athletic achievements. He was an avid golfer, Yankee fan, and was a UCONN women’s basketball enthusiast.

He loved to spend time working in his vegetable garden, and loved to cook. He enjoyed having daily breakfasts at Scarpelli’s and frequent dinners at the Venetian. One of the highlights of his golfing career was achieving a “hole in one” on the eighth hole at Eastwood Country Club July 4, 2016.

A very generous man, he always had a soft spot in his heart for people in need. He is survived by one son, John J. “Butch” Palladino and his wife Pauline; one daughter, Reyne Kulesza and her husband Thaddeus; one sister, Theresa Ross; two granddaughters, Danielle and Gabrielle Palladino, all of Torrington, a special friend, Barbara Randall, as well as many nieces and nephews.
