Robert F. McCurdy III, 91, of Torrington died Thursday June 28, 2018 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital with his family by his side. He was the husband of 64 years of Barbara( Nelson) McCurdy. Born December 11, 1926 son of the late Robert “Frank” and Mary (Casey) McCurdy he was employed by Torin Corporation for 40 years as sales supervisor.

An avid Boston Red Sox and Ted Williams fan, he was a lifetime Communicant of Saint Francis Church and a graduate of Saint Francis of Assisi Parochial School. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Donald McCurdy and partner Heather Murray of Winsted and grandchildren Donald McCurdy Jr of Goshen, Jessica McCurdy Allen and husband Robert of New Hartford, and Michael McCurdy and partner Candace Cullen of Torrington and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother Thomas McCurdy and sister Helen Wood, and lifelong friend and cousin O. Paul Deering.

Friends may call Monday July 2 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Phalen Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family .
