Mary A Vrlik Bonini , April 28, 1932 — June 10, 2018

Mary A. (Vrlik) Bonini, of Torrington, CT, passed away, Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Bonini. Mary was born April 28, 1932, in Batizovce, Slovakia, the daughter of John and Mary (Boratko) Vrlik.

A graduate of Torrington High School class of 1949, she started her employment at Torrington Savings Bank as a Teller, then after raising her family, she was employed by First Federal Savings and Loan as a Teller. She also enjoyed working for S.N.E.T. as a Billing Clerk until her retirement.

Wanting to stay active, she then returned to employment working part time at Arrow Pharmacy, was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and kept young by being a “Senior Reader” at Torringford School. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, she enjoyed having dinners at her daughters houses, visiting with her family in Indiana, and spending time shopping with her with her family and her closest friends. She is survived by one son, Mark L. Bonini, his wife Anne of Carmel, Indiana, and their two children Emily of Chicago, IL and Matthew of Indiana; two daughters, Christine M. Dickinson, her husband Walter with their children Adam and Mahaila of Torrington, CT, Linda M. Gryniuk, her husband Mark with their children Mitchell and Lukas of New Hartford, CT; one great granddaughter, Brooklynn of Torrington; a sister-in-law Carol Vrlik of Harwich, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother John Vrlik. Mary’s family would like to thank all of the staffs of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Brandywine in Litchfield for their care and compassion during the past ten months. The funeral will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington, CT for services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
