Obituary for John Tippett John L. Tippett, 85 of Baxter went home to be with the Lord on April 27. 2018. He was born December, 7, 1932 in Bryson City , NC, where he was raised.

He lived there until enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving in the Korean War. He later moved to Michigan and worked at Pontiac Motors until he retired and moved to Baxter. John was a private pilot, and loved flying with his “Fly Boys”, Eric Cowling and Vick Yemmens.

His other passions in life were hunting, fishing, gardening, bee-keeping, four wheeling and most especially, riding his motorcycle with his best friend Milton Ashburn. John also loved spending time with his dear friend Larry Goff. John loved his family more than anything and would do anything for them.

His greatest love of all was for his Wife Jessie of 63 years. Memorial services for John will be held Friday, May 4th, 2018 beginning at 11:00 am from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 4th from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.
