Obituary for John Wesley Marshall Mr. John Wesley Marshall, age 79, of the Hayters Gap Road section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (December 30, 2018) in a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born June 4, 1939 in Blackford section of Russell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Flora Marshall. A lifelong resident of the area, he had formerly been employed as a construction worker and was a member of Community Heights Baptist Church.
He enjoyed fishing and Nascar, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger Marshall, Charlie Marshall, and James Marshall, and one sister, Margaret Mullins. In his generation, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Barbara Ruth Musick Marshall; three sons, Randy Marshall and wife, Kathy of Florida, Jeffery Lenwood Marshall of South Carolina, and Matthew Marshall of Virginia; four grandchildren, Karsyn Marshall, Harlow Harshall, Andrew Marshall and wife, Brittany, and Tyler Marshall; two great-grandchildren, Solstice Marshall and Arian Marshall; sister-in-law, Mildred Stilwell and husband, Curt. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Scottie Maxfield officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 1:00 PM Wednesday.
