Obituary for Larry Harris Mr. Larry Harris, age 64, of Rowe, Virginia, passed away Thursday (December 27, 2018) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born June 14, 1954 in Tazewell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Elbert and Gracie Harris. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Freewill Baptist faith and was a retired coal miner.
A veteran of the United States Army, he had proudly served his country from 1970-1974. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles, and mechanic work, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Faye Brown Harris, and one son, Larry Dewayne Harris.
Survivors include one son, Robbie Harris and wife, Barbara of the home; three sisters, Linda Gilbert and husband, Carl, Wanda Dye and husband, Russell, and Brenda Wampler and husband, Don; one brother, Terry Harris and wife, Tabitha; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Chester Ball and Rev.
Seth Shortridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitt Cemetery at Drill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Freddy Axel, Justin Harris, Logan Harris, Stanley Dye, Stevie Thomas, Jamie Thomas, Jason Thomas, Gary Stiltner, Tony Cook, and Timothy Hess.
