Obituary of John Hardin John S. Hardin passed away on April 2, 2018 at Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria VA. John was born on November 26, 1960 in Kings Mountain, NC. He proudly served in the US Navy and had over 35 years of government service in his career.

His time in the military took him to places such as Boston, Charleston and aboard ship to Spain, Italy, and Beirut. He began a lifelong love and support for members and veterans of the military. After an honorable discharge, he moved to the Washington DC area to begin his government career.

An avid reader and writer, John continually sent books to military personnel overseas. John was an accomplished writer with two self-published books. John was a quiet man, but those who knew him knew of his huge heart, compassion and concern for the people and things he loved.

In his spare time, he loved communicating with friends online, and became very popular using the screen name Doc Holliday. He also had an amazing knowledge of military history, especially the Vietnam War, which was the subject of one of his novels. John was the loving husband of Pamela Hardin and proud father of Ashley Hardin.

He was the precious son of John W. and Jackie Hardin. In addition to his parents, wife and daughter, he leaves behind many relatives and friends who feel his loss tremendously. He was loved by many.

The family will receive friends on June 1, 2018 from 5-7pm at Adams Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA. Burial will be in Kings Mountain. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fisher House Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project.
