Joseph Anthony DeMeo, 72 of Staten Island, New York passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at home. Born Wednesday, March 20, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph DeMeo and the late Josephine Mercogliano DeMeo. Religiously devout he was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, where he devoted much of his time.

Joseph was an analyst for a Brokerage firm by trade, but relished his free time with visits to the Jersey Shore. He loved hanging out with family and was a staple at the Staaten and the Kings Arms Diner for lunch every day. Joseph was predeceased by his life companion Thomas Kopf who passed away in 2012.

He was the beloved uncle of John DeMeo and his wife Deborah, Joseph DeMeo and his wife Eileen, and Joyce DeMeo Vignola, and cherished great uncle of 6 great nieces and nephews. he was the brother of the late A. Charles DeMeo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday at Sacred Heart Church located at 981 Castleton Ave Staten Island, New York 10301.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
