Joseph Arley Twigg January 21, 1939 – March 23, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Joseph Arley Twigg, 80, of Greenspring, WV passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Western Maryland Health Systems, Cumberland, MD. Born on January 21, 1939 in Greenspring, WV, he was the son of the late Ray E. Twigg and Winifred Mullin Twigg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He attended Forest Glen United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Springfield. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clinton A. Twigg, 3 sisters, Betty Jane Ficik, Mildred V. Ritchie, Norma Jean Federico, and 5 brothers, Richard, E. Ray, Alfred W. William F. and Robert J. Twigg. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Mae Lease Twigg of whom he liked to say, “the preacher married us and she followed me home”.

He is also survived by 3 sons, Joseph E. Twigg (Mary) of Jacksonville, NC, Edwin Twigg (Michelle) of Keller, TX, Darin Twigg (Sabrina) of Augusta, WV; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Twigg; 2 brothers, Roy Earl Twigg of Freemont, OH, Dailey D. Twigg of Springfield, WV; a sister, Audrey Davidson of Freemont, OH, 18 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Springfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Ann Merkel and Pastor Kenneth Kaplinger officiating. Interment will be in Forest Glen Cemetery The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday at McKee Funeral Home, Romney WV and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Romney, WV.
