Joseph’s Obituary Joseph passed away at the age of 61 on February 2nd peacefully in Chelsea. Joseph was born in Malden, a beloved twin son of Victor J. Pietkiewicz and the late Sophia P. (Kurpieski) Pietkiewicz. He was raised in Medford with his twin brother and other siblings.

Joseph attended schools in Medford and was graduated from Arlington Catholic High School in 1975. He would later attend the Blaine Academy in Boston pursuing studies in hairdressing and cosmetology. Joseph was a resident of Medford for most of his life and for the past four years he resided in Winthrop.

Joseph worked as an eyeglass frame stylist, working for dispensing opticians. For the last ten year’s he has been fitting custom eyewear at Newbury Visions in Boston. In his lifetime Joseph had a natural flare for fashion and decorating, crafting window treatments, refinishing and repurposing old furniture and painting.

He enjoyed dancing, traveling and vacationing to warm sunny beaches and climates. He was the beloved son of Victor J. Pietkiewicz, the late Sophia P. Pietkiewicz and step-son of Florence Pietkiewicz. He is lovingly survived by his twin brother Mark Pietkiewicz of Beverly and the loving brother of Daria Poe and her husband Steven of Medford, David Pietkiewicz of Chelsea and the late Paul S. Nicewicz, Sr. Cherished uncle of Evan Poe, Tanya Quinn and Paul Nicewicz, Jr. Dear nephew of Stasia Archis of Peabody and Roberta Pietkiewicz of Medford.

He is also survived by many cousins, loving friends and extended family members. ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Thursday Feb. 14 from 4 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford on Friday Feb. 15 at 9:30 A.M. Services will conclude with inurnment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Funeral home fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite funeral home.
