Rita’s Obituary A lifelong resident of Chelsea, Rita passed away on Tuesday March 12th at the Eastpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea where she had been receiving supportive care for the past several months. She was 86 years of age. Born and raised in Chelsea she was the youngest of 10 children of the late Ceofred and Julia (Perry) Gallant.

Rita attended local schools. As a young lady she worked for a time at American Optical in Chelsea. At work she met Severino “Sam” Moscatelli.

They married in 1956, sharing the last 62 years with love and devotion to her beloved husband raising a daughter and three sons. In her lifetime Rita enjoyed many trips with her husband or cousins to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Foxwoods. She enjoyed driving family and friends on varied errands and excursions.

She was always available to help or lend a hand to her family, rarely ever refusing any request for help. Her life was one of unconditional love and devotion to her family and friends alike. In addition to her parents Rita was also predeceased by her nine siblings; Aldine Catalano, Gerald, Kevin, John, Fred, Robert, Paul and Joseph Gallant and Frances Gallant and her granddaughter Alyssa Namopoulos.

She is survived by her beloved husband Severino M. “Sam” Moscatelli of Chelsea and she was the forever devoted mother of Nancy Namopoulos and her husband Andy of Wakefield, Tommy Moscatelli, Sr. and his wife Donna of Newton, Robert Moscatelli and his wife Audrey of Phoenix AZ, and Bruce Moscatelli and his wife Nicole of Lynn and cherished grandmother of Tom Moscatelli, Jr., Christopher Moscatelli and his wife Korey, Anthony Moscatelli, Michael Namopoulos, Nicole Namopoulos. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral will begin from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Saturday March 16th at 9:30 A.M. Followed by a funeral mass at the Immaculate Conception Church 133 Beach St., Revere at 10:30 A.M. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home on Friday from 4 – 8 P.M. Funeral home fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite funeral home.
