Inurnment graveside services for Joseph D. “Joe” Behannon, 84, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Campbell officiating. Mr. Behannon was born July 26, 1934, in Mansfield, Louisiana, the son of the late William Arthur Behannon and Maude Ella (Carter) Behannon, and died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in Lufkin. Mr. Behannon was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Lufkin.

He worked at Lufkin Industries in the tool storage department for 33 years. Mr. Behannon was an avid bowler and was a member of the Luf-To-Go Sam’s Travel Club. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores Behannon of Lufkin; daughter, Judy Lilley and companion Welton McAdams of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and John Strain of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Larry Murphy of Pollok; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Gloria Westbrooks of Jasper.

Mr. Behannon was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister; and 2 brothers. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
