Joseph J. Hernandez, 50 years old, passed away at 10:31 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home. Joseph was born on July 16, 1967 in South Bend to the late Juan and Jillanna (Turner) Hernandez. He has remained a lifelong resident of South Bend.

Joseph was an executive chef for the University of Notre Dame and Memorial Hospital. Joseph is survived by his daughter, Emilee Hernandez of South Bend; his brother, David (Amy) Hernandez of Osceola; two sisters, Angela and Amy Hernandez, both of South Bend; nieces and nephews, Hailey, Abigail, Hayden, David, Hannah, Jacob, Kaid, Maxx, Kelsey, and Paige; and three great nephews, Mekhali, Demetri, and Jaxson. A private burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.

Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Joseph J.
