Joyce Ann Tithof of Montrose, age 69, died peacefully Wednesday October 24, 2018, at Medilodge of Montrose. Joyce was born August 19, 1949, in Owosso to the late Erwin and Rita (Gieskin) Tithof. Joyce was a 1969 graduate of Chesaning High School.

She grew up in Chesaning, resided in Saginaw for many years before becoming a Montrose resident. Ms. Tithof was employed by Dr. Paul Danek DDS for 25 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help then St. Anthony Catholic Church in Saginaw.

She was active in the National Handicapped Association and the Saginaw County Health Department. Joyce loved ballet, traveling and dearly loved all her nieces, nephews and many devoted friends. She had a great sense of humor and an amazing outlook on life.

She is survived by: siblings: Carol Bitterman of Chesaning, Dale (Mary Ellen) Tithof of Chesaning, Thomas J. (Pat) Tithof of Montrose, Linda (Joe) Deitering of Chesaning, Beth (Bob) Uehlein of Charlevoix, Kathy (Dennis) Dankert of Prudenville; sister-in-law, Rosalee Tithof of Saginaw; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; many dear friends especially Dr. Paul and Lydia Danek. She was also preceded in death by: brothers, John Tithof in 1949, Larry Tithof in 2008; brothers-in-law, Ed “Red” Bitterman in 2002 and Bernie Klimczak in 2011; a nephew, Brad Bitterman in 2012; and special friend, Fr. Bill O’Shea in 1993.

Fr. William Gruden will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Parish, 404 S. Wood St. in Chesaning. Private interment to follow in Mt.

Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to Heartland Hospice or the family. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Medilodge of Montrose.
