Obituary for Joyce Filz (Andreson) Joyce Eileen Filz, 83, of Twin Lakes, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kenosha on June 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Geraldine (Alberts) Anderson. She attended both public and private schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.

She later received her Associates Degree in Applied Science and Data Processing from Kenosha Technical Institute. Joyce married Donald Filz on August 9, 1957. They settled in Kenosha where they raised two children.

Their years were spent traveling and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Joyce was employed by the United States Government where she worked for the Military Entrance Processing Command. After 18 years of service, she retired in 2002.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she attended service regularly. She also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Chapter XI RHO. Joyce enjoyed shopping and traveling to auto races, especially Indy Car, where she was an official member of timing and scoring for over 30 years.

Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joyce will be remembered for her kind heart as she would always put others needs before her own. Survivors include her husband, Donald Filz of Twin Lakes; two children, Vicki (Greg) Waugh of Twin Lakes and Jeff (Kristin) Filz of Norton Shores, MI; four grandchildren, Dustin Waugh, Kelly (John) Hanifl, Cami and Carson Filz; and one great-grandchild, Addison Waugh.

She was preceded in death by four siblings; Gerald, Robert, Donna and LuAnn. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 31st, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Aurora at Home Hospice, 116 N Dodge Street Suite 8, Burlington, WI 53105, would be appreciated by the family.
