Joyce’s Obituary Joyce Matthews Fowler (nee Holleman) died peacefully on January 19, 2019 in Mt. Holly, NJ at the age of 73 surrounded by her children. Joyce was born on August 12, 1945 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Paul & Florence Holleman.

She served in the U.S. Navy WAVES from 1963 to 1965. She married James W. Matthews in 1966, raised their children in Southampton, NJ, and settled later in life in Bastian, VA. Joyce is survived by her husband Tommy Ray Fowler of Thorpe, WV; her children, Cheryl Hennessy, Lisa (Curtis) Jackson, & Paula Dattilo of NJ, Monty (Beth) Matthews of Bluefield, WV; her siblings, Paul Holleman, Jr., Barney Holleman, & Barbara Weber, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years James Matthews; siblings Linda Carol Ball, Walter Bruce Holleman, Buckey Holleman, and her grandson Robert A. Price, Jr. Services will be held at noon on Saturday, January 26 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, 3431 Coal Heritage Rd. Bluefield, WV 24701 with visitation one hour prior to services. Rev.

Frank ton will officiate. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens, 38659 Governor G C Peery Highway, Bluefield, VA 24605. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joyce’s life.
