Virginia S. Kammer, of Bluefield, passed Saturday January 19, 2019 at the young age of 94, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 6, 1924 in Hinton, WV, and was a daughter of the late Lacy M. and Grace Maddy Saunders. Known as “GG” to those who loved her, she was a member of Congregation of Ahavath Sholom Synagogue and a Graduate of Little French Beauty Academy.

GG was dedicated loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, of whom she was most proud. She loved her garden of flowers and being outside, especially sweeping her porch. She was a selfless person who quietly reached out to those less fortunate, and was a faithful friend to many.

She was a lifetime member of Hadassah, member of Sisterhood where she was known as the “Rummage Sale Lady”. She was a volunteer with her husband and children’s activities, and American Legion Auxiliary member. She is now at peace with her husband of 58 years, Max L. Kammer.

She now walks alongside her parents and brothers; Charles, Fred and George Saunders, sisters; Louise Hunter and Pat Fisher. She is survived by son Harry S. Kammer and wife Terri, her daughter; Alice Ann Kammer Sarver and husband Steve, all of Bluefield, Grandchildren; Dr. Chad K. Brady and fiancé Whitney Mills, Katherine A. Kammer, Sarah A.K. Brady, and Caroline R. Kammer. Graveside service will be Tuesday January 22, 2019 at 4:00 PM, Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley, with Mr. Craig Hammond officiating.

Those wishing to attend are ask to meet at the cemetery by 4:00 PM. Pallbearers serving the family are Harry Kammer, Steve Sarver, Dr. Chad Brady, Matthew Sarver, Dr. Randy Stevens, Roger Marrs and Ralph Davis. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donation be made to The Kammer Family Scholarship, P.O. Box 4127, Bluefield, WV 24701 or Bluefield Union Mission, 2203 Bluefield Ave.
