Obituary for Joyce Patterson Newell Joyce Patterson Newell Matthews, NC Mrs. Newell, 83, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Newton and Ethel Hall Patterson. She is also preceded in death by her sons, Randy Blake and Joey Blake, and her brother, Olin D. Patterson.

Joyce is survived by her son, Arthur “Bubba” Blake, Jr.; her daughter, Becky McDougal (Steve); her brother, Wayne Patterson; her grandchildren, Eric, Shana, Scott, Dennis, Jennifer, and Noah; and her great-grandchildren, Arianna, Kayleigh, and Leyland. Joyce was a 38 year member of A.A., where she touched so many lives and was so dearly loved. Joyce’s family will receive friends from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel.

A funeral service will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will take place following the service at Sharon Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel is assisting the family.
