Obituary of Joyce Loomis WALLINGFORD- Joyce A. Loomis, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Midstate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the devoted wife of Kline E. Loomis for 63 years. She was born in Westminster West, Vermont, November 14, 1936, to the late Robert G. and C. Margaret (Simmonds) Austin.

She graduated from Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 1954. She went on to achieve a life-long dream receiving an Associates Degree in Business Management at Middle Community College at the age of 55. Joyce was a Purchasing Manager at C&K/Unimax.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and loved her church community. Her greatest joy was spending time with her precious family and being a wonderful grandmother to her 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Kline, she is survived by her son Dean and his wife Becky of Meriden; her four sisters, Shirley Walsh, Phyllis Graham, Marilyn Loomis, all of Putney, Gail Petruska of N.C., two brothers, Lyle Austin and Robert Austin, Jr both Florida, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Darren, grandson Dillon, and brother Glenn Austin. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4th at 10:30am at the First Baptist Church of Wallingford. The family will welcome visitors on Wednesday, October 3rd from 4:00-7:00 pm at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford.
