Obituary for Juanita Colleen Belcher Pratt – Juanita Colleen Belcher, age 74, died September 24, 2018 at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. Juanita was born June 10, 1944 in Macksville, Kansas to Leslie Hugo and Clairice (Blood) Smith. She grew up and attended schools in Kinsley and graduated from Kinsley High School in 1962.

She attended Fort Hays State University where she was awarded a Degree in General Science and diploma in nursing in 1966. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. On August 7, 1966 she was united in marriage to Larry D. Belcher in Kinsley, Kansas.

They shared over fifty-two years of marriage. To this union, two children were born, Amy and Julie. She worked at Pratt Regional Medical Center in nursing for approximately twenty-seven years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pratt, Kansas. Juanita was active in Pratt’s Pilot Club, United Methodist Church prayer group, and the United Methodist Women. In retirement, she enjoyed working at the Pratt Community College and volunteering at the Pratt Public Library.

In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, cross-stitching, reading, photography, entertaining, table decorating, working on the Pilot express train, shopping, spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Larry of the home; daughters, Amy and Julie both of Wichita, Kansas; sister-in-law, Marsha Smith of Ottawa, Kansas; sister-in-law, Donna Bernatzki and husband Robert Bernatzki of Kinsley, Kansas; brother-in-law, Vin Belcher and wife Barbara Belcher of Bucyrus, Kansas. Mrs. Belcher was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, LaRita and Jane Smith and brother, Leslie Milton Smith.

Juanita was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law and daughter-in-law. She will be deeply missed and remain in the hearts and thoughts of her family and many friends forever. Cremation has taken place.

Friends may sign the book Thursday from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Memorial service will be held September 28, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Pratt, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Marvin Ewertt presiding. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillside Cemetery in Kinsley, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to Pratt Pilot Club or First United Methodist Church in care of Larrison Mortuary.
