East Alton: Juanita Mae Lane, 93, passed away at 9pm on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. She was born on March 31, 1923, in Alton, the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Mae (Little) Jones. She married Ralph Lane, Sr. on October 12, 1953, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death in 1999.

Survivors include two great nieces: Lisa Davis of Wood River, Melissa Bloodworth and her husband: Nathan of Bethalto, a great – great nephew: Clark Bloodworth, a great-great niece: Sylvia… Read More » Bloodworth, and a great – great – great niece: Renleigh Davis, two step – sons: Bobby Wilkin and his wife: Diane of South Pasadena, California, and Danny Wilkin of Van Nuys, California. Juanita was formerly employed as a crew leader at Owens – Illinois Glass Works for over thirty years prior to her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ where she was known as the “cookie lady” to many children in their Thursday School program.

She enjoyed crocheting and outings with the “Jolly Sixty’s”. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a special niece, Nora Hailer and her husband Larry Hailer, as well as many brothers and sisters. In celebration of her life, services were held on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.

Pastor Brian Magnuson officiated. Burial followed at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials are suggested to the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ Thursday School Program.
