Juanita Nobles Hooks, age 94 of Chadbourn went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at her residence. Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Smyrna Baptist Church with Reverend Merle Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday one hour prior to the service at the church. She was the daughter of the late Lula Cribb Nobles and Roy Pinkney Nobles and the widow of Claude Allen Hooks. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Virginia N. Hopkins, Roy “R.P.” Nobles and Ellen Futch.

Mrs. Hooks was a loving mother and devoted member of Smyrna Baptist Church for over 70 years where she served as a Sunday School teacher for 50 years. To cherish her memory she leaves three sons, Claude Allen Hooks, Jr. (Marcelle) of Raleigh, Stephen Roy Hooks (Diane) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Scott L. Hooks of Chadbourn; five grandchildren, Claude Allen Hooks III, Craig, Erin Hooks, Kyle and Rachel Hooks; four great-grandchildren; Claire Austin Hooks, Reid Hooks, Brady Hooks and Skyler Englebright. The family would like to express their gratitude to Sheldia Miller and Crystal Sellers for the loving care shown to our mother during her illness.
