Curtis Lee Soles, age 71 of Chadbourn passed on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at his residence. Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Stocks officiating. Interment will follow in China Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. He was the son of the late Sallie Nobles Soles and Youley Soles and was also preceded in death by two siblings, Tommy Soles and E.L. Soles. Lee honorably served his country in the United States Army and was employed by (Veeder- Root) Danaher Controls in Elizabethtown for 44 years until his retirement in 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Blackwell Soles of the home; a daughter, Stacey L. Soles of Raleigh; three siblings, Lela S. Thompson and her husband, Sidney of Whiteville, Nancy S. Blackmon and her husband, Bennie of Chadbourn and Connie S. Tyree and her husband, Wayne of Whiteville. Memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 2372 Cedar Grove Church Road, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430.
