Margaret Soles Blackwell-Hammond, age 79 of Whiteville passed Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center in Whiteville. Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Darrell Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. She was the daughter of the late Clara Nobles Durden and Monroe Soles. She was the widow of Carlton Blackwell and Billy J. “BJ” Hammond.

Margaret was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dean Blackwell; and a brother, Bobby Nobles. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Perritt (Thomas) of Evergreen, Judy Durden of Clarkton and Janice Blackwell of Evergreen; three siblings, Jimmy Soles of Chadbourn, Isaac Soles of Chadbourn and Rachel Fairfax of Cerro Gordo.
