Harry Richard Strickland, Sr. age 87, of Cerro Gordo passed at his home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Stocks officiating. Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 P.M. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Lee Jenkins Strickland and the son of the late Brooksie Green Strickland and Raymond Hall Strickland. He was employed by Columbus Motor Company in Whiteville for 25 years; Pate Wholesale in Lumberton for 20 years and later at LK Fuller Furniture in Whiteville for several years until his retirement.

To cherish his memories he leaves two sons, Harry Richard “Ricky” Strickland Jr. and his wife, Vicki and Gregory “Greg” Strickland and his wife, Trina both of Cerro Gordo; two brothers, Grady Strickland and Raymond Andy Strickland both of Cerro Gordo; two grandsons, Jeremy Strickland and Evan Strickland; two great-grandchildren, Owen Strickland and Maddie Strickland; his companion, Marie S. Lewis of Whiteville. Memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 2372 Cedar Grove Church Road, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430. Condolences may be offered at www.
