Obituary for Judith A. Kinney Judith A. Kinney, of Ann Arbor, passed away September 11, 2018 at her residence. She was 84 years old. Born in Reading, Michigan on January 18, 1934, she was the daughter of Edmund and Pauline (Reese) Stanfield.

Judy graduated from Reading High School in 1952 and Bowling Green State University in 1956. She also did advanced work at Eastern Michigan University. Judy is survived by her husband, Richard “Rip” Kinney.

They married on August 11, 1956. Judy was an educator in the Edmore, Hudson, Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor Public Schools. She was most proud of her part in originating and setting up the first Career Center at Pioneer High School.

Judy was active in the West Side United Methodist Church and, for many years, the Board of the Huron Valley Child Guidance Council. In addition to her husband of 62 years, Judy is survived by her sons Steve (Sheila) of Houston, TX and Thomas (Laura) of Commerce, Michigan. Her grandchildren are Samantha, Kaitlyn and Shane of Commerce and Shea of Houston.

She is also survived by a brother William Stanfield (Marta) of Columbiana, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her brother John Stanfield. Judy has a sister in law Elaine Stanfield of Williamston, as well as a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Fred and Mary Jane Saxton of Mears, MI.
