Judith Arlene Lumpkin Lowery, 69, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at UNC Chapel Hill after complications from open heart surgery. Judy was born November 12, 1948 in New Haven, CT to the late Elias Frizzell and Isabelle Hundley Lumpkin. After high school, she received a BS degree from Southern Connecticut State University.

Judy was married to the late, Maxie Ray Lowery. Judy was a wonderful, wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. A life celebration will be held at 7:00 pm, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.

The family will visit following the service until 8:30 pm. Surviving: daughters: Allisha Lowery Cassidy (Jerry) of Wendell and Shaquanna Lowery (Lamonte) of Wellington, FL; grandchildren: Jade and Jordyn Cassidy, Niajah Forbes, and Sean, Destiny, Elijah, and Sá Niah Lowery-Fyne; sisters: Diane Thomas of Wethersfield, CT, Ruth Talton of New Haven, CT, and Cynthia Frizzell of Brooklyn, NY; brother: Earl Frizzell and Lester Smith both of New Haven, CT; sisters-in-law: Margaret Cuthbertson (Willie) of Charlotte and Gemma Lumpkin of New Haven, CT; and a host of special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony Lumpkin and Robert Frizzell; and sisters, Robin Highsmith and Jean Flynn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made online to the American Heart Association Go Red for Women fund.
