Judy Ann Stuart Joy, age 75, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at her home. She was born in Chatham County on May 10, 1942 to the late James M. Stuart and Ruby Thomas Stuart. After graduating from high school, Judy worked as a beautician before deciding to return to college at age 40 to complete her bachelor’s degree.

Her calling in life was to work as a substance abuse counselor where she was able to help many people. Judy is survived by her husband, Richard Joy; three sons, Jimmie Bullis and wife, Wendy of Sanford, Michael Scott Bullis and wife, Debbie of Sanford, Mark Christopher Joy and wife, Teresa of Reidsville, NC; one daughter, Elizabeth Goodman of Stallings, NC; one brother, Jimmie Stuart and wife, Patsy of Thomasville, NC; one sister, Bonnie Jean Bryant and husband, David of Carthage, NC; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Rev.

Jarrod Davis officiating. No visitation will be held at the funeral home.
