Obituary for June Ann Dotson June Ann Dotson, 79, of Muskogee, died December 22, 2018, at her home. She was born on May 4, 1939 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Clyde and Shirley Frisby. The family moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1948 where her parents attended Oklahoma Baptist University.

June attended and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1957. Following her return to Muskogee in 1963 she graduated from Northeastern State College in 1972 with a Master’s Degree in Education. June subsequently taught at Bacone College, Oktaha and Warner High Schools.

She was also employed as a social worker by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Muskogee, retiring in 2001. June’s passion was teaching her Bible Study Class, Higher Ground, at the First Baptist Church in Muskogee, where she was actively involved in Women’s Missionary Union, mission trips to Mexico, and Vacation Bible Schools. She loved studying the Bible and spent hours preparing Bible study lessons.

June’s life as a Christian began at eight years of age when she accepted Christ and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church, Muskogee, Oklahoma. In 1981. June married Bob Dotson in Muskogee where they made their home.

They shared over 37 years of a happy life and marriage together. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Mansfield; her parents, Clyde and Shirley Frisby; brother, Michael Wayne Frisby; and stepdaughter, Susan Elizabeth Winkler. June is survived by her husband, Bob of the home; her son, Dale Boyer, Jr. of Cuenca, Ecuador; her daughter, Desiree Corn and husband Carl of Catoosa, Oklahoma; son-in-law, Michael Winkler of Lexington, Oklahoma; stepson, Larry Dotson and wife Melissa of Keller, Texas; grandchildren, Cristy Ann Mayberry, Julie Ann Raines, Bradley Boyer, Heather Boyer, Tyler Winkler, Kalin Winkler and Ashlee Dotson; great-grandchildren, Emily Mayberry, Sara Mayberry, Akio Boom, Landon Harwell; brother, Clyde Frisby, Jr. and wife Nadine of Ponca City, Oklahoma; her aunt, Sue Foster of Muskogee, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

June’s family will receive friends 5:30PM-7:30PM, Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, June’s family has requested memorials be made to Muskogee First Baptist Church Missions Fund at: 111 S. 7t h St., Muskogee, Oklahoma 74401. A celebration of June’s life will be 2PM, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Muskogee First Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Derouen officiating.

Interment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum with Ron Ezell, John Eaton, Don Younger, John Williams, Eric Baumlin and Charles Bowman serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Higher Ground Sunday School Class, Rex Wilkinson, Jesse Dearman, John Oldfield and Walter Williams.
