OBITUARY June E. Hicks Benford July 18, 1926 – October 27, 2018 June E. Hicks Benford, 92, passed away on October 27, 2018 while at Baptist Hospital East. She was born in 88 Kentucky on July 18, 1926, the daughter of Emmett and Mary Emma Hicks. June managed the Hicks Snack Bar in the Starks Building for 20 years.

She was a member of Hunsinger Lane Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. June touched so many lives with her outgoing personality and the genuine care and concern she felt for those that she came in contact with. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 ½ years Robert M. “Bob” Benford Jr.; her brothers, Leo and Milt Hicks; and sister, Betty “Sis” McHenry. She is survived by her son, Skip and daughter in-law, Bronwyn; daughter, Vicki Hunter; grandchildren, Scott Benford, Amy Snider, Kelly Smith and Chris Brenner; great grandchildren, Reed Benford, Irie Snider, Griffin, Jake and Emma Smith; 7 nieces; 2 nephews; many cousins and friends; also her best friends, Margaret Dearing Henderson since 7th grade and Donna Gwynn. Her funeral service will be 12pm, Friday November 2nd, conducted by her Pastor Charlie Davis at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday, November 1st at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospraus of Louisville.
