Obituary for Karen L. Guerra (Dessent) Print Karen L. Guerra, 60, Kansas City, MO passed away Jan. 28, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, Feb.

5 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 10113 E. Lexington Ave. , Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Rosary will begin at 5:30 pm, Monday at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. , Independence, MO 64052 followed by visitation from 6 – 8 pm. The family requests contributions to the ALS Association Mid-America Chapter, 6950 Squibb Rd.

, Mission, KS 66202. Karen was born March 24, 1958 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1976. She retired from Ultra in 2018.

She was a member of St. Ann’s Parish and she served on the Alter & Rosary Society Circle 6. She was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and volunteered for the Franciscan Mission Warehouse. She loved traveling and helping friend Gale Watkins with car shows.

She was big sports fan of the Chiefs, Royals, Mavericks and T-Bones. She loved blues music. She continues to help others by being an organ donor.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Robert & Mary Dessent; brothers Jim and Tom Dessent. She is survived by husband Tony Guerra, of the home; son Chris Sandefur and wife Brandy, Pleasant Hill, MO; son Anthony Guerra, Kansas City, MO; daughter Amanda Guerra; son Andy Guerra, both of Kansas City, KS; brother Bob Dessent and fiancée Lisa Scheetz, Raytown, MO; sister Kathleen Jackson and husband Jim, Buckner, MO; brother Chris Dessent, Independence, MO; grandchildren Alexis & Aden Sandefur; Ariana, Tony Jr. & Alexis Guerra; Ethan & Cheyenne Woltcamp; Cassandra, Victoria, Carlos and Ava Guerra; nieces Mary Kate Randolph, Rachael Dessent, Sean Marie Dessent; nephews Brent Jackson, Spencer Butler, Connor Dessent; great-niece Paislee Randolph; great-nephew Ryder Randolph and many other family members.
