Kathleen G Dewald August 7, 1938 – September 5, 2018. Kathleen Dewald passed away on September 5, 2018 at the age of 80 at 4:50 a.m. at her residence surrounded by her loving children. Kathleen was born in Mishawaka on August 7, 1938 to the late Joseph and Josephine (Alessandri) Paluzzi.
Kathleen was a lifelong devoted Catholic and member of St. Monica’s Church. In her younger years, she enjoyed tennis, bowling, and being with her close friends. Her greatest joy, however, was being with her family.
Kathleen is survived by her 6 children, Bart Dewald, Greg (Theresa) Dewald, Matthew Dewald, Bradley (Terri) Dewald, Mindy (Chad) DuComb and Stacy (Phil) Osborn; sister-in-law, Janis Paluzzi; and brother-in-law, Leo Foltz. Kathleen was the loving grandmother of 10, Jena (Kyle) Ingle, Garrett Dewald, Jade Dewald, Justin (Helen) Ingle, Nathan Ingle, Ryan Ingle, Baylen DuComb, Olivia Dewald, Sophia Dewald and Sage Osborn. She was the great-grandmother of 5, Carson Ingle, Jacob Ingle, Ella Randall and two beautiful babies on the way!
Kathleen was preceded in death by her three brothers, Raymond, Clifford, and Armand Paluzzi, and three sisters, Yolanda DeAngelis, Lorraine Burns, and Olga Foltz. Kathleen was a woman of great faith. She talked in her last weeks about all of the challenges that she endured through the years.
She told us that she survived because she “gave it all to God”. She gave all of her worries to God, just as she gave all of her thanks to God. He took all of her worries and handled everything.
We are all so blessed to share her faith. Kathleen was always encouraging, always inspiring, and always doing for others. She never cared to be the subject of attention.
She always wanted to know what she could do for her children and grandchildren. She was selfless, she was giving, she was faithful, and she was loving. She was the very best mom, sister, aunt, and friend to all that were blessed to share this life with her.
The family would like to thank Karen Magyar, Page Dewald, friends and staff of Southfield Village, and Father Paul Doyle CSC for their loving care and support. Friends may visit with the family at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
