Jane L. Hyde September 18, 1923-October 8, 2018 South Bend-Jane L. Hyde, 95, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Jane was born on September 18, 1923 in Dayton, OH to Carl V. and Marie (Williams) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carol E. Hyde Jr.; a brother, Carl Johnson and a daughter, Laurie E. Fitzgerald.

Surviving are a son, Geoff (Patty) Wharton of Mt. Prospect, IL; nephew, Peter Dundas of London; James Myers; grandsons, Geoffery, Thomas, and Michael Wharton; nieces, Andrea Morse and Cam Miles. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Beau.

Jane was a volunteer for the Red Cross where she served on the board; she was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital and the Center for Hospice. She loved her family and her dogs passionately. Jane touched many people’s lives and was a substitute mother to many.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Bonnie Jacobs and Pam Newman for their compassionate and loving care. Memorial services will on Thursday, October 11 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, in First Presbyterian Church Chapel in South Bend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Red Cross.
