Kathleen Toomey Turgeon , May 21, 1958 — April 19, 2018

Kathleen “Kathy” Marie (Toomey) Turgeon, 59, of Ludlow passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born and brought up in Springfield and settled in Ludlow in 1988. Kathy was a graduate of Cathedral High School and received a certificate in nursing and phlebotomy.

She was a kind and thoughtful person who touched many people’s lives while working in the human service field. In her most recent position, she enjoyed her work as a paraprofessional at the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative in West Springfield. She was also employed at Western New England University for many years in the administrative offices.

Kathy had many hobbies and especially loved all kinds of creative arts. Family was everything to Kathy, who especially loved spending time with her children and spoiling her grandchildren all of whom were her pride and joy. She also had many close friends and cherished all of her personal relationships.

Kathy was the loving daughter of Margaret Toomey of Wilbraham and the late Joseph Toomey. She was the beloved wife of 36 years to Michael J. Turgeon, devoted mother of Michelle E. Camerota and her husband Armando of Wilbraham, Stephanie E. Rogowski and her husband Brian of Ludlow, and Bryan M. Turgeon and his wife Colleen of Westfield. She was the loving and devoted grandmother of Anthony, Elise, and Elena Camerota, Charlotte Rogowski, and Madison Turgeon.

She was the caring sister of Mary Arkoette and her husband Rick of Huntington and James Toomey and his wife Lisa of North Carolina. Kathy also leaves countless family and close friends who will miss her dearly. There will be calling hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the WILBRAHAM FUNERAL HOME, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham.

The funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Kathy’s name may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
