Kathleen “Kit” Yvonne White, Gospel Minister, also known as “Sis”, and “Ma”, on May 2nd has gone to spend Eternity in the presence of her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, where she will worship Him continually. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Gloria White, as well as her siblings Andrew, Maria, Bruno, and Gary White. She is survived by her siblings: Charles (Eileen) White, Brooklyn, NY, Olga White, Far Rockaway, NY, and Raymond White, Bronx, NY, one sister in law Patricia White Patterson, Brooklyn, NY; 12 nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.

Her “adopted “children and their families also survive: Rev. Jerry (Delores) McCovey, GA; Rev. Dellie Belton-Nichols (Bishop Joseph C. Nichols), DE, and Rev.

Katrina Huffman, Long Island, NY. Kit was Reginald Williams’ adopted Grandma. She leaves behind her lifelong best friend/”sister”, Linda Drayton, NYC.

A product of the NYC Public School System and graduate of SUNY Binghamton, Kit drew from three decades of professional employment in the human services and educational fields to augment her life’s best work-in ministry. She was Associate Minister at Cornerstone Community Church in Endicott, and Beautiful Plains Baptist Church, Binghamton. She served this community for 40 years as the Licensed Engineer/Host/Minister of the Gospel Time!

Broadcast on WHRW-FM, Binghamton and www. whrwfm.org on Sunday mornings. She was a former Chaplain at SUNY Binghamton and Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Inc. Associate Staff.

Many formerly incarcerated individuals and their families will remember “Rev. Kit” for her loving ministry at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility. She served for 7 years as the Chair of the Broome County Council of Churches jail Ministry Advisory Board and received the William Stanton Award for Excellence in Ministry.

Her ministry followed decades of serving the community as an activist on various boards, committees, and organizations. Community groups, not for profits, and individuals sought her sage advice. Kit had a quick sense of humor, and everyone was a friend who received a smile from her.

Family and friends are invited to call Saturday May 19th, 2018 from 11: to 1:00 PM at the Cornerstone Community Church, 911 E. Main Street, Endicott, NY followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the church. Please visit ParsonsFuneral.com to offer your condolences.
