Obituary for Kathryn “Kathy” Dukes (Thomas) Kathryn “Kathy” T. Dukes, 61, wife of Joe W. Dukes, passed away Friday, July 06, 2018 at her home. Born March 12, 1957, in Sumter, she was the daughter of Frank Parkin Thomas and Emily Johnson Thomas. Mrs. Dukes was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She retired from Wachovia after 34 years in banking. She was an active volunteer with the Sumter Mental Health Association. Survivors include her husband of 42 years; two children, Warren Dukes (April) of Pittsburgh, and Lauren Watson (Michael) of Florida; one granddaughter, Ellena Dukes; two brothers, Frank Thomas, Jr. (Kimberly) of Simpsonville, and John Lee Thomas (Reneé) of Camden; a sister-in-law, Brenda Vaughn (David) of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Stuart Mizelle officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 230 Alice Dr,, Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
