Kathryn Moses April 29, 1923 – January 17, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Kathryn (Kathy) Moses, 95, passed away peacefully at home in Alamogordo on January 17, 2019. She was born April 29, 1923 to James and Nola Frey Evans in Clarksville Tennessee. She married H. Darwin Moses September 11, 1947 in Nashville Tennessee.

The couple moved to Alamogordo in 1951. Kathy was very involved in the community. She was the school secretary at Sierra Elementary School from 1961 to her retirement in the 80’s.

She was a 60 year member of the GCRMC auxiliary where she worked in the gift shop and took baby photos in addition to other duties. Kathy was a charter member of P.E.O. Chapter AO, on the board of Alamogordo Community Concert Association, and was also involved in Alamogordo Jr. Women’s club, La Noche, Red Hats, and other organizations. She was a recipient of the Alamogordo Woman of Merit Award.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, H. Darwin Moses. She is survived by her daughter Linda Moses Camarillo of Escondido, CA and son James Moses and wife Elizabeth of Rochester, MI. She had two grandchildren Laurie Moses (Roger Wortman) and Jonathan ( Danielle) Moses, and three great grandchildren Audrey Moses, Oliver Moses, and Cameron Moses.

She is also survived by sisters Marie Mathews of Temple, TX, Evelyn Wilder of Columbia City, IN, and Iva Ray of Ft. Wayne, IN, and brother James Fulmer of Auburn, IN. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Alamogordo Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10 AM.

A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to GCRMC Auxiliary Scholarship fund or to Alamogordo Home Health Care and Hospice in her name. The Moses family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O’Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
