Kenneth “Tex” D. Sitler, 91, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. He is now together again with his beloved wife, Donna, in Heaven. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or River Bend Foodbank.

Ken was born on April 16, 1927, in Wellman, IA, the son of Raymond Benton and Elsie Maude (Amlong) Sitler. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, proudly serving during WWII and the Korean War. He married Donna Florence Swales on June 18, 1951, in Moline.

She preceded him in death on December 16, 2016. Ken had previously worked as a machinist and then as a toolmaker for International Harvester, Rock Island Arsenal and John Deere and was a proud member of the International Association of Machinist. Ken enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Survivors include his sons, John (Karen) Sitler, Washington, IL, Gary Sitler, Hoffman Estates, IL, and Ed (Sharon) Sitler, Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Shawn (Nancy) Sitler and Mathew (Kaitlin) Sitler; great grandchildren, Trisia, Alex, Malachi, and Ezra. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, Carrol and Galen, and a sister, Catherine. Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
