Kenneth’s Obituary Kenneth Salsbery, 75, of Parsons, passed away at 9:04 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at his home. He was born January 9, 1944 in Parsons, Kansas to W. E. and Helen “Jewel” (Riley) Salsbery. He grew up in Parsons where he attended elementary school and graduated in 1963 from Labette County Community High School in Altamont.

Following high school, he served in the United States Navy for two years. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for a time in Norfolk, Virginia before returning to Parsons. While living in Parsons, he worked at Princess Homes and Commercial Publishers before moving to New York where he worked in construction.

He later worked in construction in Norfolk, Virginia before returning to his hometown. He then worked at Ankortite Products and later as a pressman at I.M.I. Business Forms for 32 years until his retirement. He was a member of the former Friendship Southern Baptist Church in Parsons.

He enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, and studying genealogy. On July 13, 1963, he and Carol C. Axtell were married in Parsons. She survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: One Son – Kenneth W. Salsbery and his wife, Glenna, of Webb City, MO Two Daughters – Jennifer Sevart and her husband, Brad, of King George, VA Joanne Noe and her husband, Dan, of Parsons, KS Eight Grandchildren Five Great-Grandchildren One Brother – Larry Salsbery and his wife, Pat, of Newton, KS One Sister – Carolyn Bennett and her husband, Larry, of Parsons, KS He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters, and a daughter, Donna Salsbery. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
