Kris’ Obituary Kristopher “Kris” Visser, age 40 of Sioux Center, IA, died Monday, December 17, 2018, at his residence in Sioux Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21st at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center, with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating.

Kris’s service will be available online on Friday at: First Reformed Church Live Stream. Prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A visitation with the family present will be held on Thursday, December 20th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Kris had a passion for the ministry of Bethany Christian Services of Northwest Iowa; therefore, the family requests that Memorials be designated to this ministry. Kristopher Lane Visser was born January 19, 1978, the son of Larry and Ardith (Hof) Visser in Sioux Center, Iowa.

He attended Sioux Center Christian through the 5th grade and graduated from Sioux Center High School. After graduation he worked at the How to Store/Champion Auto. He discovered his love of cooking after purchasing the former VIP Lounge and changing the name to Tofher’s Steakhouse and Lounge.

He took great pride in being a third generation partner in Visser Elevator. He could be found driving semi, changing belts, motors, welding or any other tasks necessary. He valued the customer interactions and looked for ways to help them be successful.

In his free time, Kris enjoyed golfing, woodworking and doing anything mechanical. He liked to help his friends and neighbors with anything, especially moving snow in the winter. On Friday’s he would cook a meal for the employees at the elevator and included any guests who might stop by.

After work, he could often be found in his garage watching Fox News with his dog Winnie. Kris was a member of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. He was active with the Iowa Poultry Association.

He enjoyed visiting Mozambique as a partner with Center Fresh Africa. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Ardith and David Lein of Sioux Center; sisters, Kim Huitink of Omaha, NE and her children: Jordan and Kaylie; Jennifer and Eric Kluesner of Epworth, IA, brother, Andrew and Aggi Lein of Mason City, IA and their children: Ayeden, Axsyl, Austyn and Aspyn. He is also survived by his good friend and business partner, Rhonda Rentz of Sioux Falls, SD.

Kris was preceded in death by his father, Larry Visser; both sets of grandparents; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Huitink.
