LOWVILLE – Larry N. Jones, 72, passed away Monday morning, June 25, 2018 at Upstate Medical University Hospital, Syracuse. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Lowville United Methodist Church with Rev. David Herrmann, Pastor, officiating.

Calling hours will be 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the funeral service, at Lowville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Martinsburg Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Lowville United Methodist Church, 7618 North State St, Lowville, NY 13367.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 51 years, Ginny; 2 sons and their wives, Tyler J. and Michelle Jones of Martinsburg, Troy R. and Susan Jones of Lowville; 4 grandchildren, Dalton, Garrett, Audrey, and Dawson Jones; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Mary Jones of Florida; a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Randolph Myers of Turin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his triplet granddaughters, Drew, Tori, and Payton Jones. Larry was born September 7, 1945 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Harold J. and Freida Nortz Jones.

He graduated from Lowville Academy in 1963 and graduated from Canton ATC in 1965, with a degree in business and accounting. He worked at Clarkson University as a computer programmer, where he met his future wife. On August 19, 1967, he married Virginia C. “Ginny” Turck at Beaver Falls United Methodist Church with Rev.

Richard Northrup officiating. After their marriage they lived in Potsdam, where their first son Tyler was born, and later moved back to Lowville in 1969 to help with the care of his mother. He worked at JP Lewis Company in Beaver Falls in accounting, and then worked for Hoch Brothers as an accountant until 1986, when he went to work for the Town of Lowville Highway Department until retirement in 2008.

Larry was a member of Lowville United Methodist Church, a longtime member of Beaver Falls Fire Department, and a member of Lowville Fire Department, serving as secretary for many years. He was also a lifetime member of Hoganville Hunting Club, Osceola. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to camp with his boys.
