Obituary for Larry Barker Brigadier General Larry C. Barker (Ret. ), 81, husband of Pamela Busse Barker, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018. He was born in Franklin County, Kentucky to the late Thomas L. Barker and Lilly Williams Barker on August 30, 1936.

He was commissioned through the Kentucky Military Academy on January 7, 1962. He served as an enlisted soldier in the Kentucky Army National Guard from February 14, 1955 through January 6, 1962. He was promoted to Brigadier General on May 15, 1991.

He retired from military service with 39 years and 4 months of total service. General Barker was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church and was an affiliate of Birdwhistle Realty & Auction Company. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Glenn Barker, Lawrenceburg; grandchildren Whitney Ryan Mathers, Rachel Barker, and Zach and Ben Journey.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Barker, sister Mary Lee Birdwhistle and brother Thomas Barker Jr He was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a great servant of his Lord and his country.
