Laverne Sherrill, 94, Falls City, NE, passed away February 9, 2019 at Falls City. She was born October 28, 1924 at Falls City to Edwin and Lena (Brecheisen) Oberst. She married Howard Meyers in 1945 and they were later divorced.

She then married Tasker Sherrill on December 4, 1965 at Sisseton, SD. He passed away February 13, 2005. Lavern attended District 50 rural school and graduated from Falls City High School.

She worked for Crawley Milner Department Store and Pache Davis and Company both in Detroit, MI. She later worked at Frontier Trailer Factor in the accounts payable department and also for Falls City Millworks. Lavern is survived by her step-daughter, Cheryl Walsh, sister, Velma Koenig of Houston, TX, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Robert, Virgil and Kenneth Oberst, sisters, Mildred Pflaum and Juanita Hanika. Her services are currently pending at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
