Lee Beck Larsen Lee Beck Larsen was born in Spring City, Utah November 15, 1926 to Evard and Virga Larsen and passed away November 16, 2018 in Bountiful, Utah. Lee and his cherished companion, Dawn were married in the Idaho Falls Temple August 29, 1952. They shared 66 years together and raised five wonderful children.
He delighted in seeing his posterity grow and treated his children’s spouses as his own. His children and grandchildren brought him unmeasured joy. Lee’s keen mind and sharp intellect remained with him to the end.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from his beloved BYU and continued on to earn a Masters degree in Industrial Health from the University of Cincinnati. He had a successful career in Occupational Health, retiring as Director of OSHA’s Inorganic Division of the National Laboratory in Salt Lake City. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and felt he was able to demonstrate to the Lord that he was trustworthy and dependable in each of his church callings, home teaching being his favorite assignment.
Lee will be remembered as a gentle, humble man with malice toward none, charity toward all and a love for his family that knew no bounds. He knew the power of words and their ability to lift and inspire or hurt and offend. He never wanted to offend a single soul and spent hours writing words of encouragement, solace, cheer and inspiration to many, always choosing to look upon others as our Savior did.
Lee loved BYU football (some years more than others), Yellowstone campfires, serving as a Senior missionary and in the temple with his wife, writing to his congressman, and planning the next family adventure. Lee suffered years of painful health challenges that were surely a trial to bear, yet he never became bitter, complained about his lot in life or lost hope in a brighter day to come. He truly endured to the end.
Lee felt that to love and to be loved was life’s greatest reward. He was, and will continue to be so very loved. Survived by his eternal sweetheart Dawn; children: Marae (Garth) Persson, Janae (Dennis) Sorensen, (Denise Larsen), Bryan (Debbie) Larsen, Dwight (Paula) Larsen as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Nolan and son-in-law Robert Nelson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Bountiful East Stake Center 650 E. 2150 S. Friends may visit family Friday, November 23, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N 400 E and Saturday Nov. 24th at the Church from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services.
