Mr. Leo J. Scitney Jr., 58, of Franklin Township, passed away Tuesday, June 26th at The Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Fern E. (Christman) Scitney. They would have been married for 33 years this Saturday, June 30th.

Born in Palmerton, Pa. , he was the son of the late Leo J. & Bertha A. (Knappenberger) Scitney. He was currently employed as a mechanic and paint technician.

He was of the Catholic Faith. Leo was a life member of Lehigh Fire Company #1. An accomplished musician/guitarist, he entertained the public over the years while performing with the local bands, Lucky & The Lady, Blue Mountain Grass, Tyme Trak, & The Modern Hillbillies.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Rhonda, wife of Richard Eidem of Long Run, a son Ronald J. Leikel Jr. of Lehighton, 2 grandchildren, Shanea Mertz, Benjamin Eidem, & a great-granddaughter Kasey. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 2nd at 10 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 South 4th St., Lehighton with the Reverend Robert A. Johnson II officiating. Call Monday 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment in Long Run Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in his honor may be made to Lehigh Fire Company #1, 140 South 3rd Street, Lehighton, Pa. 18235.
