Mr. Mahlon J. Kistler 92,of Allentown, formerly of Lehighton & Palmerton, passed away Saturday, June 16th at The Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit, 17th & Chew St. Allentown, Pa. He was the husband of the late Pauline L. (Clauss) Kistler who passed away March 15th, 2000. Born in Packerton, Pa.

, he was the son of the late Mahlon M. & Thelma (Snyder) Kistler. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an operations manager for Union Carbide Chemical. He served our country with the US Army Air Corps during WWII and later retired from the US Army in 1986 with the rank of Major.

He was a former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ridgefield Connecticut and held memberships with Jerusalem Masonic Lodge #49, Ridgefield Connecticut & the Lehighton American Legion Post #314. Surviving is a daughter, Paula J., wife of David Ewaniuk of Quakertown, a son David J. Kistler & his wife Donna of Laurel Maryland, 3 grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a step-brother, George Griffith, & 2 step-sisters, Dorothy Hoffner, & Mary Margaret Sheckler.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 29th at 10 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with the Reverend Cathy Kerr officiating. Call 9-10 a.m. Friday. Interment with Military Honors under the direction of The Lehighton Area UVO in the Lehighton Cemetery.
