Mrs. Mildred C. Rehrig, 91, of Ashfield, Pennsylvania passed away Wednesday, May 30th in Ashfield, Pa. She was the wife of the late Mark R. Rehrig who passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Born in Andreas, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 21, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Pierce & Frances (Rupell) Kershner.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a cashier for Rex’s Royal Swan Market, Ashfield, Pennsylvania, and previously had worked as a telephone operator for the Mantzville Exchange Telephone Company during World War II. She was a very active member of Dinkey Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashfield, Pennsylvania where she volunteered her time with the Up & Go Elders, The Ladies Aides, The Quilters, and the church concession stand at the former Lehighton Fair. Among the survivor’s are; a daughter, Nina A Rehrig of Nazareth, 2 sons, David M. Rehrig & his wife Dolores of Tallahassee, Florida, Scott R. Rehrig & his wife Alice of Walnutport, 2 sisters, Marlene, wife of Paul Randig of Tamaqua, Dolly Frantz of Andreas, 6 grandchildren, Andrea & Stephanie Mickus, Steven, Mick, Michael & Christopher Rehrig, a great-granddaughter, Frances, nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Meckel, 2 brothers, Melvin & Elwood Kershner, & 2 infant brothers. A Celebration of Life Service in her honor will be held on Tuesday, June 5th at 11 a.m. in Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1742 Dinkey Road, Ashfield, Pa. with the Reverend Anthony P. Pagotto officiating.

Call 9:30-11 a.m. in the church. Interment in the parish cemetery. Memorial Contributions in her honor may be made to the church at PO Box 250, 18212.
