Arlene H. Christman, 90, of Lehighton, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at The Palmerton Senior Living Community in Palmerton. She was the wife of the late Russell R. Christman Sr. who died on April 30, 2004. Born in Palmerton she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Hartranft and was a graduate of Palmerton Area High School.

Arlene was a sewing machine operator for the former Scotty’s Fashions in Lehighton until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lehighton and was actively involved with the Trinity Knotters and Quilters and she was a member and past Treasurer of the Lehighton Golden Agers.

Arlene loved Quilting, reading romance novels and Hershey Chocolate Bars. She is survived by her Son; Russell R. Jr. husband of Linda of Lehighton, Daughter; Lynn wife of Donald McGowan of Lehighton, Sisters; Dolores Smith and Lois Mertz of Palmerton, Grandchildren; Stephen and Josh Christman and Julie Hill, Great-Grandchildren; Alan IV and Connor Hill and Zachary and Abigail Christman, Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her Daughter; Kay Jeffery, Grandson; Jason Jeffery, Brothers; Charles and Carl and Sister; Myrtle Rodgers.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 20th at 11AM at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 3rd & Iron Streets Lehighton with the Reverend Nancy Moore officiating, Committal Service to follow at Lehighton Cemetery. A calling will be held on Thursday, September 20th from 10-11AM at the church. Schaeffer Funeral Home, Lehighton, is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.
