LEON’s Obituary Willis Leon Hunsaker, 76, of Henderson, Kentucky, died Friday, December 14, 2018, at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center surrounded by his family. He was a City of Henderson Police Officer for 20 years and served as a funeral escort for more than 30 years. Leon was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with his friends as often as possible.

He was also a University of Kentucky and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Leon was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Reverend W.W. Hunsaker, who died in November 1957, and Clara Ruth Hunsaker, who died March 21, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Floyd Leon Hunsaker and his wife, Lori, of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Gregory Lee Hunsaker and his wife, Lisa, of Henderson, Kentucky; his sister, Cara Sue Wallace of Robards, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Matthew Hunsaker, Erin Beabout, and Emily Hunsaker; two great-grandchildren, Lex Hunsaker and Quinn Hunsaker; one niece, Susan Matheis of Henderson, Kentucky; and one nephew, Timothy Wallace of Henderson, Kentucky; his longtime companion, Marcy G. Mitchell of Henderson, Kentucky; and his faithful dog, Rudy. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Reverend Orbley Ramsey will officiate.

Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hunsaker, Nicole Hunsaker, Erin Beabout, Jim Beabout, Emily Hunsaker, and David Matheis.
