ELVIS E. “GENE”’s Obituary Elvis E. “Gene” Stone, 63, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. He was born June 5, 1955, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Elvis and Daisy Wilkerson Stone. Many knew him as “Honest Gene”.

His tools and work were an extension of himself, and he always had a growing and never-ending to-do list. Gene was an avid St. Louis sports fan and loved his Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey. When he wasn’t busy with family, work, and sports, Gene could be found enjoying a glass of Audubon Red Wine and watching MeTV with his dog, Peanut.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Carolyn Stone. Gene was a devoted father to Joseph Smith, Virginia Classe and her husband, Caleb, and Nichole Patterson and her husband, Sean. He was also an adoring grandfather to David, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Abigail.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and an endless amount of friends. He was a loving brother to the late Dorothy Sauer and Lottie Blanford. Services will be at noon Tuesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

Father Anthony J. Shonis will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Monday by Deacon Richard Beaven. Contributions may be made to New Hope Animal Rescue Center.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Classe, Sean Patterson, Steven Mitchell, Rick Butts, Matt Gorman, and Matt Sauer. Online condolences may be made at www. rudyrowland.com.
